Kimball Camp is hiring for two primary kitchen roles: Food Service Director and Cook. Given the right candidate, a hybrid role may be possible.
A Food Service Director plans menus for staff and participants, prioritizing healthy, homestyle cooking that is kid-friendly and offers excellent options for anyone with dietary restrictions. He or she maintains an inventory of kitchen supplies and food products, ordering more as needed, and takes an active role in the preparation of and clean up after meals while providing direction to cooks and volunteers who are learning to assist in the process. The Food Service Director is responsible for overseeing a clean, safe kitchen and food handling practices that meet ServSafe requirements.
A cook defers to the vision of the Food Service Director while using their own skills and knowledge of cooking to prepare food, clean up after meals, and provide direction as appropriate to volunteers in the kitchen. ServSafe certification is required and will be provided as needed.
