For decades, the annual Kimball Camp candy sale has provided a pathway to camp for local families and children. The camp purchases boxes of chocolate from World's Finest Chocolates, and participants in the sale sell individual candy bars at a profit that may be used to cover the full cost of attending camp along with extras like photos and store credit.
In 2022, the amount of credit for each bar sold was increased to 50 cents, and for 2023, the candy sale started in November of 2022 to allow families more time to fund their camper's summer experience!
New for 2023, we are offering a half-day camp experience for kids ages 3-5! Pre-Camp is a great way to introduce your camper to the idea of being away from home, the excitement of camp, and immersion into the great outdoors. Weekly themes include honesty, caring/compassion, respect, and responsibility.
Pre-Camp will be offered for four weeks throughout the summer of 2023, with identical AM and PM half-day sessions.
For ages 6-10, Day Camp allows an introduction to the fun and friendships found at Kimball Camp. Creative activities, outdoor exploration, splashing in the creek and carefully supervised time at the waterfront are all part of this experience for the younger camper.
Drop off is at 8:30-9:00 am and pickup at 4:00-4:30 pm daily, with transportation offered from Coldwater with an 8:00 am pick up and 4:30 pm drop off.
The first residential (overnight) camp option offered by Kimball Camp is for campers aged 8-11. Participants will enjoy all that the camp has to offer by day, with the opportunity to participate in camp traditions like opening campfire, skit night, s'mores and more!
Except where otherwise noted, drop off is at 3:00-4:00 pm on Sunday and pickup is at 7:00 pm the following Friday.
For the first time in 2023, Kimball Camp is offering an option just for kids aged 11-14. At this age, kids can be offered the full range of high adventure activities, including high ropes, offered at Kimball Camp. Participation in high ropes is dependent on demonstrated maturity level and the discretion of a professionally trained facilitator.
Trailblazers will also participate in more advanced outdoor activities including on-site canoe day trips, fire building, shelter building, and more!
For the first time in 2023, Kimball Camp is offering an on-site option just for youth aged 14-17. High ropes (dependent on each camper's demonstrated maturity level), on-site canoe trips, fire building, advanced shelter building, campfire cooking, and more are offered to this group, along with extra waterfront time and other opportunities to spend time with just their own peers and counselors.
This popular option is back in 2023! Spaces are limited and can fill up fast, so we recommend registering early to guarantee your camper's spot.
New for 2023, the camp will be offered two ways: An overnight option for campers aged 9-17, and day only option for campers aged 7-11. Both age groups will get the entire gym experience as well as time at the waterfront and other camp favorites. The gymnastics portion of the camp takes place between 9 am and 11:30 am at the Hillsdale Gymnastics, Dance, and Cheer Center.
This is another camp week that can fill up fast, so be sure to register early if you would like to guarantee your child's spot.
Participants learn about and ride horses at Premier Equestrian Center, LLC in Hudson, Michigan in the morning and have the chance to take part in everything else Kimball Camp offers during the afternoon and evening.
The age range for Horse Campers is 10-17, and activities offered at Kimball Camp will most closely align with those described for Trailblazers and Adventurers.
